Turn a tracker off and you are told what stops working.
Every script on the site sits in one of three states: never runs, runs only after the visitor agrees, or always runs because the site cannot work without it. Sending an enquiry form, blocking abusive traffic and remembering a language choice belong in that last group; everything else has to earn its place. Before you confirm a change, Siteleon states the consequence in business terms — switch off advertising measurement and the advertising pages can no longer tell you which campaigns produced maintenance contracts, only what was spent. The controls sit where your pages are served, so you are not editing page code or waiting for a developer to republish the site. Add a page next month and it arrives under the rules you have already set, with nothing to re-tag.
Every tracker sits in one of three states you set
Never, after consent, or always. Nothing lands in always by default — an item is treated as essential only when you say the site genuinely cannot do its job without it, and the reason is recorded next to the setting.
Each switch states what it costs you
The trade-off is written before you commit, not discovered a month later in an empty report. Decline analytics and those visits will be missing from your traffic figures, and you are told so at the moment you choose.
A new script is stopped until you place it
Rules are enforced as pages are served, so a change takes effect across the whole site at once rather than only where somebody remembered to update a tag. A tracker that arrives inside a third-party embed stays blocked until you have reviewed it and put it in a group.
