Consent and tracking

The choice a visitor makes reaches everything that would have tracked them.

Most consent tools are bolted onto a site they cannot see, controlling tags they do not own — so the banner lists whatever somebody typed into a form a year ago, and a refusal is a request the scripts may or may not honour. Siteleon builds and runs the site, so the consent engine can scan the pages as published and report the cookies and scripts genuinely loading on them. It also runs the systems that would have measured that visitor, so a refusal reaches all of them rather than stopping at the banner. You decide what may run before consent, what runs only after it, and what never runs at all. Every banner shown and every choice made is kept as a record you can export.

Consent reaches the systems that measure

The analytics engine, the advertising control plane and the customer record all read the same consent state. When a visitor refuses analytics, the visit is absent from your reporting rather than quietly counted; when they refuse advertising, no signal about them is sent onward to Google Ads or Meta.

The banner matches the site as published

The consent engine inspects the live pages and lists what it finds, so the review widget somebody added to the homepage last summer appears alongside the trackers you knew about. You are choosing from an inventory of the real site, not describing it from memory.

You get controls and records, not legal advice

Siteleon will not tell you that you are compliant, because that is a judgement about your business and it belongs to your adviser. What it gives you is the ability to enforce a decision across the whole site, and evidence of what each visitor was shown and chose.
