Performance measures what every serious tool measures — Core Web Vitals, load time, layout shift — and then refuses to hand you a grade. It tells you how many of your visitors waited, on which page, on which kind of connection, and what was responsible: a four-megabyte photograph on the Valencia installation page, or a tracking script somebody added two years ago and forgot. Slow pages are ordered by the number of real visits affected, so a sluggish page nobody reaches never outranks a slow quote form.
