Payments & commerce

Your shop keeps selling. The rest of the site starts earning its place.

Shopify is good at selling and quiet about why. Siteleon connects the storefront to everything around it — the guides, service pages and campaigns that send people to it — and reads orders and refunds back, so content is judged by the orders it produced. Products, inventory and checkout stay in Shopify, where they belong. You can do this without rebuilding anything.

What connects

You install the Siteleon app in your Shopify admin and let it add an embed to one theme. It reads orders and products, and adds measurement and consent handling to the storefront.

What data moves, and which way

  • Received: orders with line items, totals, discount codes and the landing attributes Shopify recorded for the session.
  • Received: refunds and cancellations, which reduce the revenue attributed to a page or campaign.
  • Received: your product catalogue — names, prices, availability — so pages elsewhere on the site stop contradicting the shop.
  • Sent: the measurement and consent script for the storefront, plus a conversion event naming the page that led to the order.

What Siteleon can do with it

  • See which article or service page produced orders, not just sessions.
  • Keep prices and availability consistent between the shop and the pages that describe the same equipment.
  • Apply one consent choice across the storefront and the rest of the site, instead of two banners disagreeing with each other.
  • Find products with steady demand and nothing written about them anywhere on the site.

Things you could ask for once it is on

  • Which articles produced orders last month, and for which products?
  • Write a page for the filter range we sell most of and link it from the maintenance guide.
  • Which products get search traffic and almost no orders?

Setting it up

Four steps, in this order.

  1. 01Install the Siteleon app from your Shopify admin and approve the scopes it lists.
  2. 02Choose the theme it may add its embed to, and publish that theme change.
  3. 03Map product types or collections to the services and audiences in your business knowledge.
  4. 04Place a test order, then refund it, and confirm both appear against the right page.

Permissions

Siteleon asks to read orders, products and customer email addresses, and to add its app embed to the one theme you nominate. It never asks to edit products, change prices, alter inventory, process or fulfil orders, issue refunds, or touch your payment settings.

Where it stops

Siteleon does not become your shop. Shopify keeps products, inventory, checkout, tax and fulfilment, and Siteleon changes none of them. Shopify restricts what any app may run on checkout pages, so an order is tied to a page through the session attributes Shopify records rather than by instrumenting checkout — accurate for most journeys, imperfect for someone who browsed on a phone and bought on a laptop a week later. Remove the app embed from your theme and measurement stops on the storefront, while the rest of the site carries on.
